Most accidents can be prevented, if safety measures have been taken
1. Ensure that all PTO shafts are protected securely.
2. Ensure that all cabins and safety frames on the tractors are maintained to a good standard. Always make sure that the cabins are locked when they are not being used and that the parking brake is activated.
3. Ensure that all vehicles and trailers have all of the following in perfect working order, mirrors, indicators and lights.
4. Make sure that all chain saws are fully and correctly equipped with these 5 things: safety chain, chain receiver, chain brake, chain break protector and a safety accelerator.
5. Be very careful when working with pressurized hydraulic oils.
Security with livestock.
6. The maintenance of livestock handling units, clamping pins and livestock crushers are crucial and ensure that they are easy to use.
7. The bulls should be ringed and the ring should be checked regularly.
8. Make sure that the fields for dangerous animals are well fenced.
Child safety
9. Under no circumstances, load children as passengers in accessories or trailers.
10. Cover the mud pits and keep them covered at all times.
11. Store all chemicals and pesticides carefully and out of reach of children.
12. In one third of all accidents on the farm, children participate, educate children about safety on the farm and constantly remember and reinforce this message.
Mud wells
13. Make sure that everyone on your farm is aware of all the hazards on your farm and around your slurry well. This includes the production of hazardous gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia.
14. During agitation, you should have plenty of ventilation.
15. Agitation should be done when two people are present if possible.
16. AVOID naked flames near any well.
Health hazards of the farm
17. Asthma or "farmer's lung" can be caused by work close to organic spores, molds and powders, so wear a sunset mask!
18. Be careful with stagnant water that contains rat urine, since contact with it can cause Leptospirosis.
19. Always take precautions with infected animals since outbreaks of brucellosis still occur.
20. Lyme disease can be transferred to humans by tick bites, so stay covered when possible and consider irritations and bites.

21. All cables and electrical installations must comply with all government regulations
22. Do not allow untrained people to make temporary repairs
23. Be careful with poorly installed fuses, loose plugs, worn cables and defective equipment.
24. Be careful with overhead cables and observe safe clearance distances.
